Madeline Bush, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I specialize in relationships, both with others and our Self. Relationships are central to our lives, and they can also bring profound challenges. I blend the Gottman Method, Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy, and Internal Family Systems to address both the emotional and biological factors influencing relationship dynamics, including struggles with communication, trust, intimacy, and betrayal. I also specialize in cognitive behavior approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Exposure & Response Prevention to address struggles with depression, anxiety & emotional dysregulation, and obsessive compulsive disorder.

In my practice, prioritizing empowerment through knowledge is a top priority. I believe that knowledge is not only comforting but also transformative, so I dedicate time to explaining psychological concepts and therapeutic approaches in accessible terms. I also strongly believe in the art of humor in the therapy room. Laughter joins & heals.

I believe that every relationship, including the one we have with ourselves, has the potential for growth, even when things feel heavy or strained. Whether you're an individual or a couple, I invite you to get in touch so we can work together to create change.

I'm a Scorpio through and through, fueled by lots of home-brewed coffee and a love of exploring new cities by bike. I'm an introvert at heart, though I can easily pass as an extrovert until I hit my limit and need that high value quiet recharge time. My home can easily get overrun by animals: 3 cats, 1 dog, and a rotating cast of foster animals from my local shelter. When it comes to podcasts, I love tuning in to anything featuring fellow clinicians, theorists, and researchers sharing their expertise and passions. Couples work is my greatest focus, though I love working with anyone navigating relationship struggles. Having started my career providing specialized care for OCD and anxiety, that population also remains close to my heart. One of my favorite therapeutic approaches is Stan Tatkin's PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) because of its wonderful blend of neuroscience and attachment theory. I'd love to work with you on building the tools and insight to strengthen your relationships with others and with yourself!
